Event: Grooming workshop

Highlight - Resource persons discussed on maintaining punctuality, following discipline, classroom cleanliness with special mention to habit formation for the basic code of conduct to be followed regularly. Videos on the same were shown. Children also learnt how to fold a napkin and a t-shirt on their own so that they can turn up to school in neat and clean uniform.
Event: Art and Craft Workshop

Participants – Students of classes 3 to 5
Highlights: Art and Craft is a form of activity that enhances one’s creativity and imagination skills. As a part of the Bagless Days activity, our academy organised an art and craft workshop for the students of classes 3-5. Mrs. Manisha Agarwal conducted this fun-filled session that piqued the creativity of the students. Students learnt to make diyas using colourful paper. They even learnt to turn those diyas into wall hangings by sticking them on colourful ribbons. The activity was apt as Diwali is around the
corner.
Event: Quiz Workshop

Highlights: “Knowledge is like a garden; if it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested.”
Quizzes are a common tool used in various educational settings to assess knowledge, understanding, or proficiency in a particular subject or skill. They play a significant role in learning by promoting active engagement and knowledge retention. Lakshmipat Singhania Academy held a quiz workshop on 22nd of October, 2024 for students of classes 3-5. Mr. Krish explained the two important aspects of quizzing – observation and application. He conducted various rounds of quizzes with the students such as MCQ round, rapid fire round, audio-visual round, buzzer round, etc. It was a very fun-filled interactive session for the children. For each round, one volunteer was chosen randomly from each house and asked questions. The children tried their best and answered the questions confidently. Mr. Krish was kind enough to award chocolates to the children who participated in the quiz.
Event: Music workshop

Highlights: The music workshop was an engaging and informative session that delved into various aspects of music. The workshop aimed to educate participants about the fundamentals of music, its benefits, and the evolution of musical instruments. The workshop began with an interactive session where participants identified and sang musical notes, fostering a sense of musical awareness. The facilitator emphasized the demerits of listening to music at high volumes, highlighting the importance of hearing protection. Participants explored various devices used for listening to music, from traditional to modern technology. The workshop highlighted the benefits of listening to music. The participants learned how music facilitates communication, conveying emotions and ideas. A comprehensive overview of music’s historical development was provided, showcasing its transformation over time. The facilitator introduced participants to various instrument families, with a focus on string instruments. The workshop ended with an engaging clapping activity which allowed participants to experience
rhythm and timing firsthand.
Event: Oral Hygiene

Resource person: Dr Ekta Jhunjhunwala
Highlights: An informative workshop was conducted by Dr. Ekta Jhunjhunwala on oral hygiene for the students of classes 3 to 5. The students were demonstrated the correct way of brushing, the kind of toothpaste to be used and the correct way to store the tooth brushes. The structure of the teeth and the causes of tooth decay were discussed. The role of food in good oral hygiene was talked about. The diseases related to poor oral health and their treatments were explained. The resource person patiently answered the numerous queries that the students had. Overall it was a successful endeavour.
Event: Bookmark Making

Highlights: The main highlight of this event was the creativity of the children. The students were given full liberty to explore their creative minds and use the materials at hand to make an attractive bookmark. It was a pleasure to watch how the students used different materials in an innovative manner. This activity also aimed at encouraging children to read. Only if they read would they be able to use the bookmarks made by them. It enhanced their concentration and kept them focused on one task for a long period of time, which is a challenge otherwise. Some children also wrote very captivating slogans on their bookmarks. This shows the children do read and know how and when to use slogans or phrases. Overall it was a fun-filled activity which the children enjoyed thoroughly.
Classes VI – VIII
Event: Workshop on Myopia
Date: 21.10.2024
Highlights- it was an informative and engaging session for the students. Lawrence and Mayo in collaboration with TOI took a workshop for classes VI- VIII from the 6th to 8th period in the senior assembly hall to enable the students to understand about Myopia and how to identify and prevent it.
They were given valuable tips to maintain good eyesight. Some tips were given to students with spectacles too. Movie tickets were offered as prizes at the end when a quiz was conducted to assimilate their learning. 2 students won the voucher. All the students received a free eye check up for the entire family. They also received a goody bag with discount coupons and a lens cleaning solution.Event: Music workshop

Highlights- They explained the essence of Music and to be aware of the music around us. It was an informative session for the students. They were given valuable knowledge about various categories of musical instruments. They also presented a wonderful performance that all enjoyed. Students also enjoyed clapping to various rhythms. They showed a few videos of live performances of renowned artists. Then all the students sang a few songs- Believer and Bones. A few students were given the opportunity to play their instruments too.Event: Workshop of Anti Addiction to harmful popular trends

Resource person: Conducted by popular actor and social activist Mr. Bobby Chakraborty, the workshop was held for all students of classes VI-VIII, in the senior assembly hall, from the 1st to 3rd period.
Highlights -The workshop involved important relevant issues about addiction and ways to overcome it. The students were made aware of the potential dangers of having unregulated independence and money. The students realised the importance of health, career, family. They were engaged as young soldiers and young trendsetters for the student community. The session was engaging, effective and received large scale interaction from all students present. The students were allowed to think critically for themselves on pertinent issues about addiction which plague current society. They understood the importance of good decision making and the power each holds over their own minds. The session was invigorating and enriching for all students involved.
