Director Meena Kak & Principal Jaya Misra garlanding Rabindranath Tagore
Lakshmipat Singhania Academy recently celebrated the 162nd birth anniversary of one of the greatest figures of Indian literature, Rabindranath Tagore. The event included performances by students and teachers which paid tribute to the poet and philosopher. The event began with the garlanding of the bard’s photograph, which was a gesture of respect and honour. This was followed by the opening song, "Edin Aji Kon Ghore Go," which set the tone for the rest of the programme. The Director of Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Ma’am Meena Kak then delivered a speech highlighting Tagore's life and accomplishments. The speech provided the audience with an insight into the poet's vision of modern India and his legacy. Further, the audience witnessed a remarkable performance by Arijit Ghosh, who played the Esraaj, inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's songs. The audience was enthralled by the melodious tune. Ronit Dev Chatterjee spoke on the creation of Tagore which searched for eternal human values: human, aesthetic and spiritual. Following this Nikunj Nagori, recited Tagore's famous Hindi poem, "Nahin Mangta." The poem's powerful message left a lasting impression on the audience. The musical, "Birpurush," was yet another stunning performance. It was a perfect blend of music, dance, and drama, and it captured the essence of Tagore's literary works. The program concluded with a tribute from the teachers, who sang a soulful song in honour of the great poet. On 9th May, Rabindra Sangeet instrumental was played to mark the consummation after each period. In conclusion, the event was the perfect tribute to Rabindranath Tagore on his 162nd birth anniversary and was a beautiful reminder of his lasting legacy.
